On the island sits the Enten. The new resident arrived in Bangsbo in 2015.

Enten are fictional creatures in author Tolkien’s universe. They are known from "The Lord of the Rings". Here they serve as the shepherds of the trees and tend the tree species to which they themselves belong.

Enten is constructed of iron, styrofoam, and PU foam, after which concrete was applied to the outside. Finally, it was painted and received its blue eyes.

Enten was created by the local art enterprise Quirky Art, consisting of the artists Kim Nielsen and Marianne Godsk. It took 160 hours to produce it. Originally, Enten was made as an eye-catcher for the Bangsbo Flower Festival. It was so popular there that it was a natural thought for Enten to remain in the Bangsbo area.

Facts about Enten:

- Height: 3 meters

- Weight: 500 kilos

- Each hand is 90 cm long and 8 cm thick

- The head is 90 cm tall

Trigon Foundation, together with several of the town’s citizens and businesses, financed Enten’s resting place in Bangsbo. It was transported by truck from the artists to Bangsbo and then lifted with a crane onto the island. Here it received a concrete foundation so that it can remain seated in all weather conditions.

Come out and see Enten and the beautiful nature in Frederikshavn.
